Edward is not interested in putting down roots.
As he believes he will be able to return home someday - he's mainly hanging around wherever. He might crash at a train station, or even on the train.
He's very used to sleeping on train seats.
However, the idea of setting down roots when he's still got his goal in hand, still has a mission, it's impossible for him to imagine.
He burned down his house - he's not looking for a new one.
